The SPEAKUP! CARNIVAL is more than just a competition; it is a celebration of the power of speech and the art of expression. Each contest is designed in collaboration with top-notch coaches and industry professionals, ensuring participants receive the best guidance and training.
 

By supporting and participating in the SPEAKUP! CARNIVAL, we aim to build a stronger ecosystem of English language learning in Malaysia. This event not only highlights the importance of effective communication but also empowers young individuals to become confident presenters, creative thinkers, and engaging speakers.

CATEGORIES

An Annual Celebration of Language Fluency through Expressive Speaking and Creative Writing.

KEY TIMELINE!

The SPEAKUP! CARNIVAL is structured into three main stages, ensuring a comprehensive, structured and fair process for submission, evaluation, and recognition. The SPEAKUP! CARNIVAL not only celebrates the art of speech and expression but also empowers participants by acknowledging their efforts and talents.

1st July to 30th July
(Submission of Entries)

  • 1st July to 30th July: Participants are required to record their own videos for the various contests and submit their works online.

  • Outreach Activities: There will be outreach activities in schools and online, assisting participants in recording and submitting their works. This stage focuses on collecting all entries and ensuring every participant has the support they need to showcase their talents.

1st Aug to 31st Aug
(Judging and Evaluation)

  • 1st August to 30th August: The submitted entries will undergo a thorough judging and evaluation process by our panel of expert judges.

  • 20th August: The theme and items for the impromptu speech contest will be announced. Participants will have 10 days to prepare and submit their impromptu speech videos by the 30th of August. This ensures participants have adequate time to prepare while maintaining the impromptu nature of the contest.

1st Sept to 16 Sept
(Announcement & Awards)

  • 31st August: The top 10 participants from each category will be announced, highlighting those who have excelled in their respective contests.

  • 16th September: The top 3 winners from each category will be announced, with participants receiving their participation e-certificates. Awards will also be presented separately on this date, celebrating the achievements of all participants and recognizing the outstanding talents showcased during the carnival.

AGE GROUP/ LEVELS

In each of the SPEAKUP! CARNIVAL contests, we welcome participants from various age groups,
ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to shine. Here are the categories:

LEVEL 1: INSPIRING KIDS

(Below 7): Our youngest participants, full of creativity and enthusiasm, ready to take their first steps in expressive speaking.

LEVEL 2: AMAZING STORY TELLERS

(7-9): Young storytellers who captivate audiences with their imaginative tales and budding
public speaking skills.

LEVEL 3: BRILLIANT HEROES

(10-11): Brave and brilliant young speakers who are developing their confidence and refining their storytelling abilities.

LEVEL 4: CONFIDENT SPEAKERS

(13-15): Adolescents who are honing their public speaking prowess and becoming more articulate and persuasive in their delivery.

LEVEL 5: DASHING PRESENTERS

(16-17): Teenagers who excel in presenting their ideas clearly and engagingly, ready to take
on any speaking challenge.

LEVEL 6: EXCELLENT PERFORMERS

(18-20): Young adults who demonstrate exceptional performance skills, combining confidence, eloquence, and expressiveness in their presentations.

Top 3 Awards

The top 3 participants in each category will win prizes worth up to RM100. Additionally, there will be mystery gifts for the top achievers, rewarding their exceptional achievements!

RM35 for each category.
